Tonight I’m feeling like an astronaut

This song has being in my head for quite some time, and day after day I’m neglecting my responsibility to write an article about this song, which has so much relevance in this 21st century world of ours. The song’s name is “Astronaut”, and it is by a band Simple Plan. All I can say about this song is that it has instigated me to figure this song out on keyboard, as well as I’m amazed by the fact that this song has being written by a punk rock band. Usually punk rock bands don’t write such song, but all i can is thumps up to this band for this song.
The song begins on these lines, the picture emphasizes the true meaning indeed
Today, the WWW or rather the social media has become an integral part of our lives, we spend way too much time checking our phone for how many likes we get on Facebook or how many followers we have on twitter, and this whole business of social media has made an alien(metaphorically) out of this human beings. People these days talk about the things that go on social media like Whats-app, Face Book, Twitter. They have lost the sense of actually talking to another human being, and even if they talk all they do is that they talk about what TV show they are watching or some imaginary events of some stupid nail-biting show. All this has unintentionally created a void in our lives, sometimes all these things going around me make me feel like an “astronaut” in the dead silent outer space. It has made me sceptic about many things about me, it has made me doubt myself, and has made me question whether there is problem with me, or is it just that I have drifted apart from this world.  Has the world shrunk down or has it expanded so much that it has become like the outer space (metaphorically)?? I don’t deny the most obvious fact that I’m too also a part of the social media of Outer space, but this has created a lot of problems in everyday Hi!!! And Bye!!!

The Chorus!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes it makes me think that what happened to those stupid conversations we had in this everyday world about the quirks, jokes and funny incidences in our “Real Social Life”. Social media was created for making people connect with each other through shared interests, but the sin which has being committed by this media is that it has made people disconnect from their loved ones. If we the youth waste so much time talking about things that happen in some stupid/interesting sitcom, when will we have the time to think about giving back something to this world we live in. Have you ever imagined what has happened to those “lonely  people”, who just want to have a normal quirky conversation with you, or just that they want someone to open up with their thoughts, have you ever thought about those people, those people who ever normal just a decade ago, and suddenly have turned weirdos in today’s time. this song has made me think a lot about this minute everyday events in my life, and well it is high time we start connecting with each other in real life before a time, we stop talking to each other in real life, and start conversing with the person besides us by Whatsapp or any messenger service on our so called smart phone. Undeniably it has made many moments in our life awkward, weird or just plain old boring.
The lyrics are just too good…..
Let this article be a serenade to all those normal lonely weirdos, in this 21st century world, who are struggling to strike up a conversation with their colleagues or a person sitting beside him. Let’s connect to each other in real life before we become like those lonely astronauts drifting apart aimlessly in that ever-expanding outer space of loneliness.

A teacher is……

Well today is 5th September, and it is celebrated in India as teacher’s day. It is celebrated a teacher’s day because of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday, who himself was a teacher before he was the President of India. I take this time out of my life to write some thoughts I had regarding this day.
Teacher, a person who inspires and is responsible for changing a complete generation. He/she is a person who teaches us how to write, read and take life as it comes. He is a watchful protector, who directs a child’s thinking in the right direction. I  take this golden opportunity to thank all my teachers for helping me throughout my life, helping me improve my grammar skills and inspiring me with their completely different ideas(all my language teachers), teaching me important concepts of Physics, Math, Biology and chemistry and most importantly for helping me inculcate my hobbies(my music teacher).

The Karate Kid
This movie is entirely about master and his student and their intertwined lives

     Sorceress’s apprentice

“I am not your mentor, I’m your MASTER”- Balthazar Blake

In this 21st century India, it is high time we pay our dues to our beloved teachers. They are the people who help us in many things. Teachers are one of the most important people in our lives, who help us take life as it comes, there are so many instances in movies-“Kung Fu panda 1 and 2”, “The Karate kid”, “Sorceress’s apprentice” and “Never Back Down”, where a teacher inspires the protagonist to be strong and most importantly to believe in themselves. It is this belief, which is the driving force for our excellence in our lives, and we should never forget that teachers are the ones who instil this concept in us. Moreover i’m also proud to be a part of the ancient Indian tradition where the teacher is a mentor, taskmaster and an ultimate MASTER. It is also the first time in 21st century India, that the PM held a special session to salute the teachers of India, and take some time out of his busy schedule to interact with the young generation of India, well it is first ever time he has tried to reach out to the children.

Never Back Down

                 I don’t have to say anything more………..

Now I need to go call all my teachers!! I wish all the teachers in this world, a happy teacher’s day!!!

We are ONE

Today is 15th August, 2014, and it is the 68thIndependence Day of India, it has being almost 68 years since we achieved our freedom, as usual I take this historic day to write something about the Indian youth, which I’m proud to be part of, and this particular song called as We are One by a band 12 Stones, exactly encapsulates the aspirations of the 21st century Indian youth.
The Lyrics says it all!!!
In 2014, the population of India mainly comprises of the youth. It has been a long time since we got our independence, but still we are a long way from being a developed country, in which the aspirations of the people are complete. It is our responsibility to take this great nation forward. The youth of this country has come a long way ahead of the tyranny of differentiation of religion and unjust caste system, which has plagued the Indian mindset for way too long, it is our responsibility to be secular and not differentiate people based on religion. It may seem to be somewhat of new concept, but it is our responsibility to move forward into this ‘unknown territory’. Still India has a long way to go for being a developed nation, and it is the youth who can carry the spirit of unity forward. We still haven’t really moved on from the colonial mindset that was imposed onto us for such a long time, and it is we who would bring our great nation out of this degenerative mindset. The real challenge that we face today, is how we drive our tomorrow, whether we choose to have the same mindset of our forefather who indirectly inherited the colonial mindset as a consequence of our colonial era or we choose to have a mind full of thoughts of the 21st century which call for unity, peace and to fill up the widening gap between the poor and the rich. It is we who choose between the 2 mindset and not run away from an important task at hand to drive this nation forward. The youth of India can play a vital role in changing such a mindset, moreover we also need to take care of the concept of accountability in our government, we shouldn’t adopt corrupt practices to get our work done, by doing this we indirectly support corruption which has infested the 21st century India.
We need to ensure that we ourselves remain incorrupt, and then and only then can we expect transparency and accountability in our government. There is no point in blaming the government to be corrupt, if we ourselves indulge into the gray areas of corruption. Though in the past we might have suffered from the tyranny which was committed by our so called ‘sacred’ caste system, but it is we who choose to lie in the past or show these sacred scars and move one from these mistakes. Sacred scars in the sense that we learn from our past mistakes and not commit the same mistakes again. Moreover it is our responsibility to see to it that the women in the 21st century India are safe and free to pursue their ambitions.
It is in our hands, the future of this great nation!!
By doing all this, we can ensure that India goes in the right direction of progress, it would also lay the path for India for becoming a developed nation and also be one of the superpowers in the world we ought to be. Wishing all my fellow Indian citizens a very happy Independence Day, and let’s take a pledge to take this great diversified nation called India forward.

Let’s be what we ought to be!!!

 Jai Hind!!!! 🙂

If I go crazy would you still call me – Superman

Today is 3rd August, and its friendship’s day, I take this opportunity to write something about friendship, by as usual referring to a song. This time the song of the day is Kryptonite, by the famous band 3 doors down.

Lyrics of the song

This song captured my attention when i was a teen, and it was the first song which got me into hard rock
music, and also subsequently into the band 3 doors down. In this world, friends are those people who carry you forward, make you feel wanted, and inshort make you happy. This song is specifically I think tailored made for friendship day. It is actually a conversation between 2 people, who are friends and it speaks about how their friendship grew in this selfish world. This life is designed in such a way rather, this world is made in such a way that it “troubles” your mind, you feel like walking off alone in this world so that you can “ease your pain”. But unfortunately, sometimes walking alone is not an opinion, and it is difficult to be alone. You will realize how important it is to have someone to share your thoughts with, and from there comes dear friendship. When in your life, you’re in trouble or when you’re at your lowest point, this world goes into the “dark side of moon”. And only then you realize that how difficult it is to survive alone on this “dark side”. It is this song doesn’t talk about this, rather it speaks about how sometimes you need to go “beyond you call of duty” to save someone who cares about you. But the whole thing about this friendship is that it has its own highs and lows, good times and bad times, sometimes unintentionally you do things that hurt your friends, but then it is at this time your friendship is tested, it is at this time you see the value of your friendship. Hurting people who care about you, is not a good thing, and these things happen unintentionally, because they are inevitable, but it is when you go “crazy” when you find out whether the person who cares about you worthy to be called your “Superman(friend)”. But it is not always in your hard times you need friends, you also need friends when you’re “alive and well” rather when you are happy. The real test for friendship is when the whole tide is against you, and how well you protect your friend/friends with your “Superhuman- kryptonite” is the real deal about friendship.

The second verse

As I said before, friendship has its own highs and lows, at some times in your life you need to help your friend when he/she is “weak”, and you need to be “strong”. Well there are times when you share your darkest secrets with your friends, and they share their “secrets” with you, and it is your responsibility to keep these secrets hidden and that tells you the strength of your friendship. Mistakes committed never go on one way, they go both the ways, and it is from these mistakes, when you learn to keep your friendship properly, when you learn to not take it “for granted”. For if it had not being for such situations, when you picked up your friend “back on solid grounds”, there would never be any friendship at all. Friendship involves helping your friend and keeping him rather making him/her stand his/her ground during these times of crisis.

  The main chorus!!!!

So let’s remember this day, when you respect and admire friends as “supermen and superwomen”, who helped you hold your ground in times of your crisis, and also be their supermen and superwomen who help them keep their feet on solid ground during their bad times. Wishing all my friends and friends all over the world a very happy friendship day!!!!

Far from home

Well I always wanted to write a blog about this song, because this song grew on me as days passed in Hyderabad. When I first listened to the song, I wasn’t able to completely relate to it, but spending almost 6 weeks in Hyderabad, having so many experiences, events happening and things changing, the song is relatable, each and every word of the song is quite relatable.
The song begins on a simple, elegant and straightforward acoustic guitar riff, and when you listen to the lyrics, you will figure out the song has sad tone to it.
The artwork of the single, “Far from Home”
The lyrics of the song

I don’t think I need to give you an introduction about hostel life, because I have being blabbering about it in the previous articles. When you stay in a completely alien city in a different state away from home, you will have experiences and lessons which will affect you in a big way. You will find out what it is like to stay alone in a big city, no family and home. This is the place where you will be exposed to the harsh reality of the real world , moreover you will realize how different the coveted and safe environment of your home is. People say that real world teaches you lessons, which will change you, which will make a person, with great wisdom, yes I completely agree to it. You will realize that home is much more important place than any place else, even when sometimes it might not always be an ideal place to return to. The environment, the surrounding in which I’m living, the clean air, the peacefulness of this place and the greenery always captures my attention, this place in some ways is ‘heaven’, but this ‘heaven’ will try to keep you away from home. Whenever there will be a moment you have to choose between heaven and home ,that moment will define you, it will test you for your allegiances to home, it will be that moment when you will actually find out whether you have changed or not, that moment will be a defining moment in your life.

In this hostel life, you will meet a variety of people, with different aspirations, dreams and ideas, you will start realizing how diverse this world is, you will find out the real meaning of true friendship, you will feel the pain you get from broken dreams, and moreover you will start out growing your old personality. A hostel is nothing but a ‘carnival of souls’, ‘souls’ with different life journey, ‘souls’ who are protagonist in their own life movies, where you will see that each one has its own climax, its own tragedy, his own fate. Well this article might not go word to word with respect to the song, but I think it takes into consideration lyrics and overall feel of the song.
All I have to say is hostel life will either be a breaking point of your conscience or an awakening of a self, which is much wiser and greater. In the end you will realize that whatever place you are staying maybe a heaven, but that heaven has no comparison to the home, you always and forever seek.

Song Chronicles: Stairway to Heaven

Well today in the early morning, I found out that today’s father’s day, and as you see I write a special article on this day on my dad, the greatest hero I ever know.
The original artwork for stairway to heaven
Stairway to heaven is indeed a legendary song, and it can be interpreted in many ways, and I interpret it as a father telling his child about the real world, and how this world will treat you, when you’re away from home. Well if you notice mother smothers the child, and doesn’t expose her child to the real world, but on the contrary dad wants his child to leave the nest and explore unknown territories. Well this song is no different; it’s actually a conversation between an aging father, and his almost adult child. He tells his child that life isn’t always fair, it is completely unbiased, it doesn’t take sides, and it is your responsibility to interpret in the right way. From your childhood days, you’re always told that there is a good person and a bad person, but that child is meaningless now, there are always  perspectives to look at things and these perspectives vary according to the person.
Sometimes life doesn’t really give you what you want, he says, but it does give you what you deserve at the right time. He says that the whole concept of life and its mysteries are fascinating and wonderful, but remember do not get driven by it, do not always go with the flow, but rather make a flow which suits you and your principles.
Our shadows taller than our souls
When this life gives you hard lessons, don’t run away even when your heart cries out for the west, where the sun sets, don’t give in, because for a large forest to grow and mature, it has to battle forest fires, which emerge out of nowhere. But these fires make the forest much denser and stronger.
One of the greatest lyrics of all times
Father calls his child, and tells him always follow the “piper” of reason, he will lead you in the right path, that right path may not be just one path, but more than one, but it’s your decision  to choose the path and move on it firmly. When you start following this “piper”, you will learn to hum his “tune”, his tune will lead you to a way which is made for you, and that’s where you’re “stairway to heaven” lies. But before you start climbing the stairs, remember that the deeds that you do in your entire life will reflect on you, your shadow (deeds) should always be greater than you, because you in the end are just “dust”. This shadow will remain with others when you’re long gone, and it is in your own hands to keep this shadow as tall, solid and large as possible by doing good deeds.
Well as you know I’m away from home, and this article is dedicated to all the legendary dads around the world. Wishing all dads, a happy father’s day. J J

The life you have in a hostel, is a life of hardships, depressions, weight loss and complete breakdown of your core values or core identity who perceive yourself, when you are home. Hostel life has a deep impact on you, and you will actually experience it when you are staying in one.
The Artwork Speaks for itself
The songlist and in general songs in your Ipod, seem to make much more sense, you think a lot, and the only way to survive this limited or eternal doomness is to keep yourself engaged in things gives you temporary happiness, but after sometime memories will haunt you again.
A song in my Ipod suddenly becomes an anthem of my life called as “Fine again” by seether. The general feel of the song is that the person is in dilemma about the way things are going on in his/her life, the person is feeling happy and sad alternately and he/she is just put in a dilemma about, whether the things going  on in their life are good or bad. The song opens on a great guitar riff, which sets the mood of the song.
Sometime Your reality converges to this point
Well when you’re in a hostel, the life is pretty much the same, everyday follows a certain fixed pattern, there are no variation in your daily routine, this routine takes the bright light out of you(It seems like every day’s the same), and its own responsibility to find something that engages you, so that you don’ t feel lonely(And I’m left to discover on my own). Engaging yourself in discussion about miserable life you’re having in a hostel with your fellow mate doesn’t really help, rather it depresses you further (it seems like everything is gray and there’s no color to behold), moreover you lose your enthusiasm  about your work, and you start fading away from the flow of life(try to staysober feels likes I’m dying here).
The various instances in the video BTW Amazing video really suits the song
Even when after all this, hope doesn’t really fade away, it stays it burns much brighter. Life is not the same for everyone, people will start lecturing you about you about how their life is, and they start imposing their ideals about life into your life, and that’s the point when you have to take a stance, whether the change which they expect in you, which they think will be better for you is right or what you think about yourself, and about the change you’re experience is good/bad is right, well that’s what put in in dilemma.Actually this dilemma shakes you to the core and suddenly you start questioning your way of life, whether it is right or not(And I am aware now of how Everything’s gonna be fine one day Too late, I’m in hell I am prepared now Seems everyone’s gonna be fine One day too late, just as well). But after all this, you seem to forgot an important point that its you who has to take control of your life, and its your decision to change yourself to a better man, but whose values are much different, from the ones you carried so dearly until now.
Sometimes it is difficult to differentiate whether a change is necessary or not……..
Well this takes your life to a newer level, the dreams that you hold good for yourself, start unfortunately to fade away slowly, and actually it is all because you never really experienced the real woirld when you’re home. When the people around you give you lectures about how you should change for good, you find out that you better stick to the older life, they seem to force to impose that decision onto you, and call you a coward/ traitor, a spineless leech(I feel the dream in me expire And there’s no one left to blame it on I hear you label me a liar). People(well wishers??) say that you’re just an arrogant person, rather you’re a person, who just afraid to see a change coming through, is when you start losing your mind to mental instability, and you start feeling paranoid, a fish out of water(‘Cause I can’t seem to get this through You say it’s over, I can sigh again, yeah Why try to stay sober when I’m dying here), morever the mental trauma and bad experience you have had here have a much deeper impact on you, that you start feeling worse, when you go back home again.
The Artwork of the Album from which the song is……
All of a sudden, you remind yourself about your true good values that you hold good for yourself, are actually the truth, even when sometimes a change is necessary to move onto, but the change is not the thing that you want to experience now. Well after this, there is a lot of ripping out at people(who think are well-wisher, but actually are just playing with your mind)(And I am aware now of how
Everything’s gonna be fine one day Too late, I’m in hell I am prepared now Seems everyone’s gonna be fine One day too late just as well) moreover you start seeing the faults in them, how they themselves are scarred, deeply damaged individuals, and how dare they impose a change on you, you just reassure yourself that karma will get to them sooner or later(And I’m not scared now
I must assure you You’re never gonna get away And I’m not scared now and I’m not scared now no)
But the greater irony of all the things you’re experiencing now that even when you know the people who are telling you that you can still be a better person are wrong, and that your conscience is the only thing right, you have to face the grater demons in you, and actually all this has converged to this point that, you have to face yourself.( I am prepared now for myself, the greatest lines ever), but still you choose to run away from the fight, and start going back to the same old you(  I am prepared how and I am fine again)
This hostel life takes a toll on you mentally, at least I am experiencing it now. Actually it is a fight of how strongly you can defend your ideals and values, which you so dearly behold.

Song Chronicles: Somewhere Only We know

Well I remembered this song when I was alone in my room in the guesthouse. This song is quite dreamy and full of relaxing ambience. It talks about how sometimes when we are away from home, we start seeing the nature more deeply than ever, we start talking to people more openly than ever, and that we start relating to their idea and views more closely.
The song talks about how the singer is moving through a beautiful forest  , the imagery used in the song is very vivid and lively, this song just makes your mind imagine a forest, and you are standing right in the middle of a canopy of trees. Moreover I think there is more symbolism to the song than just the lyrics, it talks about how when we are away from home, you start outgrowing your old identity and start becoming a new person all to together. You start actually relating to other people’s ideas, views, and opinion more openly, and start to respect their views, which you would otherwise never understand, because we are self-obsessed with ourselves that we don’t think beyond our little closed minds.
Afterwards the song goes to a completely different direction. When you are happy, relaxed and not feeling lonely in a place away from home, you still long for your home, even when sometimes home is not necessarily a better place. We human beings are always driven to go to this place, where we have our loved ones, our close friends and buds, even when home in general may not always be a pleasant place to be, painful memories might haunt you, they will leave you even more lonely, it is sometimes a place where people already have an opinion about you, and even if you try to change that it is difficult. When you are away from such  a place you forget about the problems about that place, the things that trouble you don’t bother you.
It is hard to say this but sometimes home is a dreadful place to return to when you find a place way better than that. This is what I feel after hearing this song.
